Since 1974 Victoria Women’s Transition House has been supporting and advocating for women as they move forward with their lives after experiencing intimate partner violence.

What we do …

…advocate for affordable housing

Affordable housing for women fleeing intimate partner violence is an essential component of a comprehensive response to domestic violence and a critical step in supporting survivors on their path to safety and independence. Women, especially single mothers and women leaving violence, are hardest hit by Capital Regional District housing crisis. Safe, affordable housing is critical to women’s safety and wellbeing.

…gender equity

Gender equity is foundational to everything we do at Victoria Women’s Transition House. We boldly envision a just and equitable world for women, families and allies. Gender equity is a basic human right and leads to healthier and more prosperous communities

…support access to justice

Women’s safety, security and wellbeing depend on a justice system that works for them. Victoria Women’s transition House is committed to advancing gender equality through access to justice so all women can assert their social, economic, cultural, political and civil rights.

…inclusion

Victoria Women’s Transition House strives to foster a culture of inclusion free of all forms of discrimination and violence, where people are treated with respect and committed to deepening appreciation of diversity and transforming all forms of exclusion.
