VWTH has many programs tailored for the needs of older women.
VWTH offers 3 year transitional housing to women 45-65 years of age who have a history of experiencing intimate partner abuse.
In addition to offering self-contained units for independent living, tenants also have access to programming that offers emotional supports, social connections, financial literacy and referrals to community resources and that promotes overall health and wellness.
If you are interested in hearing more about the Older Women’s Housing Program please call 250-385-2103 to find out when the next information session will be held. Individual support is also provided to assist women with the transition to independence: housing resources, applications for services, connecting with community resources.
The busy environment of the Shelter is sometimes overwhelming for older women. Transition House offers older women an opportunity to reside, for a short period, in a safe home located in the community, while accessing supportive services offered in other programs.
