Donating Goods

Items for the Shelter

When women, and their children, stay at our Emergency Shelter we provide them with everything they need. Thanks to our generous donors we are able to ensure that even if they arrive with no belongings, clothing and toiletries are available. Due to our limited storage space we do not keep large quantities of clothing at the Shelter, instead we partner with Victoria Women In Need Community Cooperative to ensure clothing needs are met. We provide full size bathroom products (body wash/shampoo/lotion) as guests are with us for 30 days. At any given time we may have sufficient supplies of one item and a shortage of another – if you are considering making a donation of items to VWTH please check the regularly updated list below to see what’s needed most.

Due to storage and staff time constraints, we do not accept donations of used items.

• Pillow covers
• Towels
• Face towels
• Kitchen towels
• Suitcases and overnight bags
• New underwear (women’s all sizes)
• New underwear (kids all sizes)
• New socks (women’s and kids)
• Slippers
• PJs (all sizes)
• Sweatpants
• Sweatshirts
• T-shirts
• Bathrobes

We also accept cell phones, but they need to be factory reset for us to use them.

How to Donate Items

Please contact our Community Office to arrange delivery of a donation, 250-592-2927. Note: we are only able to accept items during our office hours 9-4, Monday to Friday.
