Empowering youth, transforming communities:
uniting against gender-based violence

What is the Youth Engagement Project?

A school-based, year long project for self-motivated youth interested in social justice and gender equity issues. VWTH PEACE team will facilitate monthly check-in sessions and provide workshops, learning opportunities and resources on topics of interest to the group. Each student will identify their own way to demonstrate their learning and develop their own final project. Examples include: a resource web page; an art project; a group presentation.

Who is it for?

  • Greater Victoria area high school students aged 15-18 of any gender
  • Anyone with an interest in social or community activism
  • Must be committed to engaging throughout the school year including once-a-month group sessions.

What will VWTH provide?

  • Monthly facilitated group check ins
  • Workshops and/or resources on specific topics related to gender-based violence
  • A reference letter

What will you get?

  • The tools to address gender based violence in your spaces (school, sports team, the gym, social group)
