On Friday November 4 the Government of BC made public our very exciting West Shore Project. At an event held at the Songhees Wellness Centre, details of the new Transition Housing being built in the West Shore, that will be operated by Victoria Women’s Transition House, were shared with partner agencies, guests and media. MLA Mitzi Dean, along with Mayor of Langford Stew Young, VWTH Executive Director Makenna Rielly, and VWTH Board Chair Maurine Karagianis spoke about the collaborative work that has gone into the project so far, and its hoped for outcomes.
The new four-storey Westshore Transition House Complex for Women and Children Fleeing Intimate Partner Violence will be comprised of 50 apartments including a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom spaces, with amenities and office space for delivery of VWTH support services:
