Next Basic Volunteer Sessions: Week of May 27 2013. Please have applications in by May 17.

BASIC VOLUNTEER TRAINING:

Basic Training is a 4 session program that provides an overview of the issue of abuse, a history of VWTH and its philosophy, the impact of abuse on Children + Shelter Tour. These will be held in February, May/June, August, September.

Note: Additional trainings may be scheduled depending on numbers of applicants.

IN-HOUSE TRAINING:

This is an additional session schedules at the end of basic training.  It prepares volunteers for volunteering at the shelter and includes safety, boundaries, shelter rules, preparation for working with children. Shadow shifts are scheduled. These are scheduled after each basic training.

CRISIS LINE VOLUNTEER TRAINING:

Please note: Crisis line applicants MUST have Basic training before beginning crisis line training, scheduled for Monday evenings beginning in October.
