The Shelter is a warm, home-like environment that accommodates up to 18 women and children. It has eight bedrooms, including an accessible room for those with mobility challenges. Children share a bedroom with their mother. On occasion, a single woman may be asked to share a room with another woman.
The Shelter offers a fully equipped playroom for children and has laundry facilities. Residents work together in assisting with household chores including cooking and basic cleaning.
The Shelter provides necessities for women and children who have left their home on short notice. Food, linen, bedding and necessary supplies are provided. In addition, the House has an emergency clothes closet for women and their children in need of clothing.
The Shelter location is kept confidential for reasons of safety and security. The address is not publicized and residents, staff, volunteers and supporters are required to honour the confidentiality of the location.
