Victoria Women’s Transition House Society and Target Storage hope you will attend the Target Storage Spooky Village on October 23, 24, 30, or 31, 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Target’s new storage facility at 505 Tolmie Lane. Our goal is to produce fun-filled family entertainment that raises awareness and funds to end violence against women.
The entire facility will be decorated including 30 storage units that will be spooked out by local businesses. There will be a scavenger hunt, a raffle, food, and lots of entertainment. Admission is by donation.
Together we can end the cycle of abuse and build a better society that respects and values all its members, especially the women and children who are most vulnerable. Your participation will help us raise funds for the VWTHS 35th Anniversary Campaign to End Violence Against Women.
Each year, over 2000 women and children access the services offered by Victoria Women’s Transition House Society. They cannot access the 24-hour crisis line, take part in counseling or go to a special summer camp without the funds we raise together. Following is more information about the partnership opportunities. Be part of a great community project!
For more information please do not hesitate to contact Elissa Bergman at (250) 592-2927 ext. 214 or elissab@vwth.bc.ca. If you are a business interested in staging a storage unit, please see the Partnership Package link or contact Elissa at the above information.
Halloween Event Partnership Package
Hello!
Victoria Women’s Transition House Society hopes you will join our TARGET STORAGE Mission: Transition team to walk or run the 8K, half or full marathon in the Victoria Marathon. You may also wish to become a team partner. Your participation will help us celebrate and raise funds for our 35th Anniversary Campaign to End Violence Against Women.
Since 1974, Victoria Women’s Transition House Society (VWTHS) has been empowering women, with or without children, who want to end the cycle of abuse.
Each year, over 2000 women and children access the services offered by Victoria Women’s Transition House Society. These programs include the 24-hour Safe Shelter and Crisis Line, the Non-residential Counselling and Children’s Programs, the Spousal Assault Victim Support Program, Community Education, and four weeks of Children Who Witness Abuse Summer Camp.
This year the Victoria Marathon takes place on October 10, 2010. Our Goal for the Marathon is a team of 100 members, and to raise $50,000 to help end violence and abuse against women in our community.
We encourage each team member to raise a minimum of $450, and to recruit a friend to help support the immediate needs and costs at the 18-bed Emergency Shelter. When people sign up for the team and raise $450 or more, their registration fees will be reimbursed.
Together we can end the cycle of abuse and build a better society that respects and values all its members, especially the women and children who are most vulnerable. If we wish to create a humane and just society, we each must look at what we can do to eliminate abuse and violence against women in our community.
If you haven’t already done so, we urge you to register early at http://www.runvictoriamarathon.com to give yourself ample time to train and fundraise. Please contact Elissa once you have registered. Below are a couple of documents for your information: important dates and fundraising tips and ideas. Please email Elissa to get a pledge package.
For more information about becoming a corporate team partner, please see the partnership package below.
We are here to help you, so please do not hesitate to contact Elissa Bergman at (250) 592-2927 ext. 214 or at elissab@vwth.bc.ca.
Warmest regards,

Victoria Women’s Transition House Society, and the women and children who stay at our Emergency Shelter, are grateful for the generosity of The Victoria Women in Need Community Cooperative (WIN). Providing furniture, household supplies, and clothing, WIN helps the women and children to move on and live free of abuse and violence.
We hope you will consider supporting their next event: their second annual “Fashion with Passion” fundraiser in support of the WIN Self Sufficiency Program on May 7 at the Victoria Marriott Inner Harbour.
