Thanks to a grant from the United Way, VWTH has a new group for women who have been at our shelter or who have used our services. The group meets for two hours Thursday mornings. We have a check in, discussion on a topic, an education or activity, and a checkout and will have guest speakers and field trips. The purpose is to learn, share, and have some fun.

The focus for March is Self Awareness – It’s all about Me!

We learn so much from one another:

Favourite books: The Secret Daughter (Shilpi Somaya Gowda), The Forgotten Garden (Kate Morton)

Favorite Ted Talks: Brene Brown: The Power of Vulnerability; Jill Bolte Taylor: Stroke of Insight ; Nigel Marsh: How to make work-life balance work (Listen to find out his version of a perfect day!)

Resources that have made a difference: Native Friendship Center; Mustard Seed Food banks

Google NPR Radio and listen to Regina Spekter.

For more information about the group, call our shelter: 250-385-6611
