WARMING HEARTS…. ONE BOWL AT A TIME.

Soup Sisters Victoria –coming soon

Nurturing and nourishing soups will soon be flowing into Victoria Women’s Transition House in late March. Soup Sisters Victoria  in partnership with The London Chef  are launching this exciting project which will provide up to 200 bowls of home-made every month for women and children in the shelter at Victoria Women’s Transition House.

Founded in March 2009 by Calgarian Sharon Hapton, Soup Sisters support women’s shelters across the country with the very simple and heartfelt gesture of providing homemade soup. Soup Sisters is also deeply committed to raising awareness about domestic abuse and family violence. A shelter representative addresses every Soup Sisters group, providing an overview of the many healing and prevention programs available at the shelter.

The London Chef, owned and operated by Dan and Micayla Hayes, is moving into its home and opening its doors at 947 Fort St in March 2011. The new storefront will include a state of the art interactive cooking school where students can cook at their own station along with the chef offering a variety of courses, a private dining room and event space, a commercial kitchen for catering, a café and a specialty and prepared food pantry.

On March 30, participants/Soup Sisters will gather for an evening of fun to learn great recipes from a professional chef and share a meal together. By the end of the evening they will have prepared up to 200 bowls of delicious and heart-warming soup for Victoria Women’s Transition House, for a cost of only $50 per participant/Soup Sister.
